Refresher Course
$125 | per person

Course Description:

This EPA/State of Michigan accreditation course is required for all asbestos abatement workers on an annual basis to maintain certification.

This one-day course refreshes attendees on the fundamentals of performing asbestos abatement activities, including historic uses of asbestos, health effects, asbestos removal and containment methods, cleaning up after asbestos projects, personnel protective equipment & respirator use, employee decontamination, and proper waste disposal.

Additionally, this course will assist workers with keeping up with the current changes within the industry and new requirements from federal or state regulations. Upon completion of this course, workers must submit certificate and fees to the State of Michigan to continue their State certification as asbestos abatement workers.

Please Note:

As per Michigan Public Act 135, outside contractors and their employees who engage in the removal of asbestos from buildings must first become a licensed asbestos abatement worker or supervisor, and work for a licensed asbestos abatement contractor (company). While the required applications and exam are provided during the training course, the fees for this licensing are not included in the cost of the training course.

Course Description:

This EPA/State of Michigan accreditation course is required for all asbestos abatement supervisors on an annual basis to maintain certification.

This one-day course refreshes attendees on the detailed requirements for maintaining regulatory compliance and worker safety during asbestos abatement, including historic uses of asbestos, health effects, asbestos removal and containment methods, cleaning up after asbestos projects, personnel protective equipment & respirator use, employee decontamination, and proper waste disposal.

Additionally, this course will assist supervisors in keeping up with the current changes within the industry and new requirements from federal or state regulations. Michigan asbestos regulations require the presence of at least one Asbestos Abatement Supervisor for the performance of all asbestos removal activities. Upon completion of this course, workers must submit certificate and fees to the State of Michigan to continue their State certification as asbestos abatement supervisors.

Refresher Course
$100 | per person

Course Description:

This EPA/State of Michigan course is required for all asbestos inspectors on an annual basis to maintain their certification.

This half-day course refreshes attendees on the fundamentals of performing asbestos inspections within public, commercial and school buildings through topics that include historic uses of asbestos, health effects, types of asbestos materials, location of asbestos materials in buildings, proper sampling methods, and required documentation and report creation standards.

Additionally, this course will assist inspectors in keeping up with the current changes within the industry and new requirements and interpretations from federal or state regulations. Upon completion of this course, attendees will submit certificate and fees to the State of Michigan to continue their State/EPA certification as asbestos inspectors.

Michigan OSHA regulations and Federal EPA regulations require that any individual who engages in the testing of materials to determine asbestos content must annually maintain accreditation as an asbestos inspector. While the required applications and exam are provided during the training course, the fees for this licensing are not included in the cost of the training course.

Refresher Course
$100 | per person

Course Description:

This EPA/State of Michigan course is required for all asbestos management planners on an annual basis to maintain their certification.

This half-day course will refresh attendees on producing asbestos management plans following completion of mandated asbestos inspections and reinspections in public and private primary and secondary school buildings, as required by Federal law.

The course topics include reviewing and interpreting asbestos inspection data, a detailed review of Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requirements, producing management plans and operations & maintenance (O&M) programs, and required documentation and report creation standards.

In Addition, this course will assist attendees on keeping up with the current changes within the industry and new interpretations and requirements from federal or state regulations. Upon completion of this course, attendees must submit their certificate and fees to the State of Michigan to maintain their State certification as Asbestos Management Planners.

Course Description:

This EPA/State of Michigan course is required for all Asbestos Project Designers on an annual basis to maintain their certification.

This one-day course will refresh attendees on the detailed requirements for planning, designing and writing specifications for asbestos abatement projects through course topics that include using building drawings and data to design abatement projects, meeting and planning with building owners, designing usage patterns during abatement activities, specification writing, overcoming challenges posed by various response actions, legal liabilities, and industry insurance requirements.

Additionally, this course will assist attendees on keeping up with the current changes within the industry and new interpretations and requirements from federal or state regulations.  Upon completion of this course, attendees must submit certificate and fees to the State of Michigan to continue their State certification as Asbestos Project Designers.
